Test Results – What You Need to Know

General Information about Test Results

When you have a test, the clinician will advise how long results may take. Please allow at least one week after your test before checking your results. Some tests may take longer, and your clinician will inform you if that’s the case.

How We Communicate Results

  • If your results require action, we will contact you.
  • If your results are normal, you may not hear from us. This is because no action is needed.

Quickest Way to See Your Results

The NHS App is the fastest and easiest way to access your test results. They are uploaded automatically as soon as they are available.
If you haven’t signed up yet, we strongly recommend downloading the NHS App and registering today.

Please see below a brief video on how to view your results on the NHS App: Video Guide on How to View Test Results on NHS App

Other Ways to Check

  • Online Form: Submit a quick request using this link.
  • Online: Use your SystmOnline account or the Airmid app (if registered).
  • Phone: Call us on 0208 630 3476 (after 2 pm, please).

Important Notes

  • We only share results with the patient unless prior consent has been given.
  • Hospital test results are usually not sent to the practice. Please contact the hospital directly.
  • If you are asked to repeat a test, it’s usually because:
    • The result was unclear or borderline.
    • Further checks are needed to interpret the result.
Please don’t worry, your clinician will explain if anything needs discussion.
